abolitionist meme-making

Saturday, April 15, session 1

11:00 AM - 12:30 PM PST

Storytelling, whether visual or written, is a proven movement tactic. From complex strategic communications campaigns by poltiicians to memes about defunding probation by formerly incarcerated young folks, every time we tell stories, it moves people-- and movement is essential for liberation.

A picture is worth a thousand words-- so a meme is like a thousand-word story, giving us creative space to communicate so much in a way that is both relevant, entertaining and impactful.

This workshop will engage participants in abolitionist storytelling, a graphic design tutorial, and collectively creating memes that help accomplish our community education goals.
