Reclaiming Our Humanity to Achieve Human Justice

The Human and Healing Justice video workshop was designed to be visually appealing and mentally stimulating, to instigate the viewer to have a moment of introspection, and cultivate conversation around their responses. The project was designed to expand the viewers scope beyond existing reform models which commonly are predicated on punishment and law enforcement. A comprehensive model of community led public safety work pushes the boundaries of what is comfortable. In having uncomfortable conversations, we push the boundaries of comfortability and begin to see the humanity in the world around us. The Human and Healing Justice video workshop is designed to introduce and familiarize the participants with the Human Justice Model, (HR+= HD= HJ), empower, define and identify systemic racism across multiple sectors. This workshop will highlight why violence should be classified as a public health issue, Understanding the history and evolution of the Human Justice Model in the United States will allow participants to see the intersectionality that connects them to current events. Beyond protecting basic human rights, human development demands that we ensure opportunities, resources, and support for each of us to flourish,
